Hi! I’m Melissa. I am 30 years old. Im from Colombia. I came to the US 6 years ago to work like an Au Pair and study English.
During my 2.5 year as an Au Pair I worked for 2 host families. In San Diego, CA I took care of a new born girl and her 2 and 4 yo brothers. In Westchester, NY I took care of 3 kids (9,11 and 13 yo) .
During that time I also worked through this app on weekends with 6 month old twins and their 5 yo brother for 1,5 years.

My responsibilities as an Au pair were morning routine including breakfast, packing lunch, drop off and pick up at school, drive them to after school activities, baths and dinner preparation. With the babies we did tummy time, baths, bottle, and music stimulation and another activities once they were getting older. I also taught Spanish to my younger kids.

In 2017 I graduated as a Dentist in Colombia, worked as a Dentist for a year and then came to the states. My long term goal is to validate my degree here and be able to get my license and work as a Dentist.

Currently Im a studying and working as a nanny to pursue this goal.

Through this same app I found an amazing family whom Ive been working full time for the last 3 years. Her two beautiful girls were 9 months and 4 years when I started.
My responsibilities with them have change throughout the years. At the beginning with the baby I was in charge of bottle feeding, change of diapers, baths, walks in the park, playground, tummy time , nap times, library story time and play dates, at the same time I was in charge of serving pre made food to the 4 yo, also bathing , plan playdates and fun activities during the summer and winter until she turn 5 and started pre-K where I was in charge of her pick/ drop off from and to school and after school activities. I consider my self a very flexible professional where I can adapt easy to different schedules with last minute changes. I was able to meet the baby nap routine together with the toddler routine. On summer time or spring break and school holidays I usually plan with prior approval of the parents fun activities to all over the city like the bronx zoo, Coney Island,aquarium, Central Park Zoo, childrens museum, ice cream museum, indoor waterparks and beach expeditions in nyc ferry which have provide unforgettable memories to my little ones. After 2.5 years with them the baby now three years old is starting full time pre-k. In the UWS so unfortunately they wont need a nanny full time any more.
