Hi families!

My name is Kira, and I am delighted to offer my help in any way I can for your beautiful family and home this summer! I am currently a rising senior at Brown University, where I am pursuing my passion for public health and urban studies. This summer, I am proud to be part of the Public Health Scholars Program at Columbia University which is why I am in the city! I am interested in women’s, reproductive, and family health which includes both in the classroom and in the community.

Originally, I am from Fairfax, Virginia where I babysat for families who lived in my neighborhood while in high school. Aside from that experience, I have learned about childhood development at school which has equipped me with effective strategies for managing child behavior in positive and nurturing ways. Growing up with two brothers and a dog, I am no stranger to busy households and the joys and challenges they bring. Also, I have worked in the customer service industry, and my experience as a server has honed my multitasking skills and taught me how to thrive under pressure.

In addition to my academic and professional background, I play the cello and have a basic proficiency in Spanish, which I am happy to incorporate into my time with your children, whether through music or language games. I can improve my skills and learn with them! I also love board and card games, as well as cooking/baking. My goal is to create a safe, engaging, and fun environment for your kids, where they feel valued and cared for.
