Hi there!
My name is Christina Cruz and Im looking forward to being your babysitter!
Ive been babysitting for my neighborhood community and family friends for approximately 6 years, working with kids from ages 3-12. My role as a nanny involved taking the young ones to their after-school extracurriculars, prepping meals, cleaning around the house, academic tutoring, and overall having the greatest time being their buddy! I also have experience looking after pets.
Because I come from a big family, I grew up looking after my little cousins which became such a highlight in my life. Therefore, I decided to pursue a babysitting career to financially support myself while doing what brings me joy! The reason I love spending quality time with kids is because theres so much that they continue to teach us every day. From how to continue being curious about the marvelous world we live in, to continuing to find joy in the simplicities of everyday life, Ive come to truly treasure every moment as a babysitter.
Currently, I am receiving my bachelors degree in liberal arts, double majoring in the history of math and science, as well as philosophy, including metaphysics, ethics, and political theory. My minors are classical studies and comparative literature. Beyond these fields, I am also exploring languages, such as Ancient Greek, politics, law, economics, music, art, theology, and psychology.
Its without a doubt that my academic journey has sharpened my skills of critical thinking, problem-solving, and creativity which manifests in my babysitting duties.
Outside of academics, I enjoy spending my free time practicing and teaching yoga, studying herbal medicine so I can craft the most delicious tea blends, learning the ukulele, and taking weekly hiking trips in upstate New York to immerse myself in the beauty of nature!
My favorite way to engage with children is by stimulating their natural curiosity and imagination! I believe that it empowers their minds and encourages them to find fascination in learning, discovering, and creating. I also enjoy keeping them engaged through educational games, and storytimes, teaching them Spanish, and participating in physical activities such as yoga and playground fun!
I cherish the meaningful connections we end up building, and pride myself on providing the space for a positive and healthy environment where they can feel safe to flourish and be their awesome selves!
