My name is Anna, and I am looking to find a role as a part-time nanny in the UES area. I graduated Davidson College with honors in Public Health, and I am currently working at the Hospital for Special Surgery while I apply to medical school. I am fully available outside of normal 8am-4pm hours, including early mornings, afternoons/evenings, and weekends.
I have three years of experience working with children from my past job as a swimming and diving coach. I led a team of 20 athletes, ranging from 6 to 17 years old. I learned how to serve as an effective leader while maintaining a fun and engaging practice environment. During my time as a coach, I received my CPR training and became well-versed in basic injury care. I was also a collegiate athlete at Davidson, so I’d love to incorporate athletic activities (going to the park, kicking a soccer ball, riding bikes, etc.) into my nannying responsibilities.
I have two years of experience nannying children in my neighborhood back home. I am comfortable looking after a wide age range, and I have experience nannying children with mental disabilities. As a part of my responsibilities, I would love to help your children with their academic needs. I am specifically strong in science and math (middle and high school), but I am comfortable teaching english and grammar as well. I believe that learning how to study (developing study techniques, organization, motivation, etc) is an essential tool for children to learn at a young age and would be happy to help with this. I’d also enjoy taking them on “learning excursions,” such as museums and libraries.
Some of my other hobbies include cooking, yoga/mindfulness, and crafting. I personally enjoy cooking a whole foods/plant-based diet, but I am happy to cook whatever your children most prefer. I am very comfortable cooking with meats and seafood. I regularly craft by painting, scrapbooking, and making jewelry – this might be something fun I could share with kids who are interested.
I am happy to clean the house, do dishes, and run errands. I am comfortable with dogs, cats, and dog walking. I am not specifically trained in child development/child psychology, but I have read much of Dr. Becky Kennedy’s work on raising resilient/emotionally regulated kids. I would absolutely adhere to your preferred childcare protocols, as I understand how important careful language is when working with kids.
