Hello, my name is Collette, and I’m currently a dental assistant in Pelham. I will be in school this fall for dental hygiene, but my schedule will be flexible.

I love kids and have been sitting since I was around 11. I’m a proud aunt of over 20 nieces and nephews (a big family), and I’ve had a hand in raising each one!
I looked after my niece the most. I spent every weekend with her from the time she was 8 months old until she was 6 years old. I spent countless days heating her formula to just the right temperature, pureeing her solids, changing many exploded diapers, and rocking her to sleep every night. I taught her her first words besides “mama” and “dadda” which were “banana” and “melon”. We had a garden, and we spent lots of time in it tending to the fruits and veggies. She took a liking to the melons!

I especially enjoyed teaching her new words and playing dress-up with her. She had a vivid imagination, and nothing brought me more joy than trying to bring one of her characters (like the dolphin mermaid ) to life. I perfected getting her to eat her veggies by allowing her to prep a little plate for herself. This method has worked wonders on other kids I’ve watched! They seem to love being involved in meal prep. Teaching them how to dip a carrot in hummus, for example, is excellent for developing fine motor skills. With that being said, it is important to me that you as the parent and I as the caretaker are on the same page about what activities you’re comfortable with your children engaging in. I enjoy cooking and meal prepping and would be happy to involve your kids if you so please.

Additionally, I will adhere to how you’d like your children to interact within spaces and the outdoors. Whether you want your kids to explore more or you prefer a bit of shelter, I’ll make sure we’re on the same page.

I’m happy to do light household duties as well, such cleaning up, and organizing. I currently do not drive, but I’m happy to run errands within walking distance.

I understand that each family is unique and that no two children are the same. It is important to me that I work closely with you to ensure that I provide the care that works best for your family. I look forward to meeting with you and your little ones!
