I grew up in a family with lots of kids, which may be why I consider myself a natural around children. My grandparents raised me to be an independent and self-sufficient child, which helped my hard-working mother a lot once I moved to NY when I was nine. My mother was an end-of-life home aid and housekeeper which meant she spent a lot of time working and would often depend on me to grow up fast and help with my two younger siblings. While I was in high school my mother introduced me to the Lipman family who had employed her for over a decade at the time and they just needed a weekend babysitter. I started when I was only fifteen and from that day forward I would not just be their babysitter but also the family’s private tutor, pet sitter, travel nanny and even cook. I spent a decade with the Lipman family before they relocated to DC and before their departure, they recommended me to their close friends. I attended high school and college here in NYC and then spent 4yrs working and preparing myself for medical school. At this point, I am a medical graduate, who just recently applied for a residency position for the 2024 Match cycle that starts in July. In the meantime, I would like to return to childcare because it is something I truly love, and feel confident in being the right kind of person to provide care for someone’s child.
