Hello! My name is Ariana White and I am a college junior pursuing a degree in Biology as part of my premed journey. While I spend my days immersed in scientific inquiry and research, I find tremendous joy in the art of childcare.

Having grown up in the bustling cityscape, I’ve developed a profound appreciation for both the urban environment and the tranquility offered by its green spaces. From navigating concrete jungles to finding solace in local parks, I cherish the dynamic balance between city life and nature.

My venture into childcare commenced with the care of my infant and toddler cousins, instilling in me invaluable qualities of patience, empathy, and adaptability. I was also a lifeguard and gave a swimming instructors for beginners. These attributes, combined with my commitment to professionalism, enable me to establish meaningful connections with both children and parents.

Last summer, I collaborated with Columbia University to lead field trips for students of all ages at Teachers College. I taught them about freshwater and marine ecosystems, focusing on the Hudson River, and discussed topics such as microplastic pollution and water chemistry.

Adapting my teaching style for different age groups, I honed my science communication skills, particularly in hands-on learning for younger students. This experience deepened my understanding of marine science and environmental education while refining my ability to convey complex concepts effectively.

In my current role as a research assistant studying horseshoe crabs, I’ve cultivated strong organizational skills and a keen attention to detail, qualities that seamlessly translate into my caregiving responsibilities.
