Hi everyone! My name is Allyson Houston (Ally for short), I am 23, and I just graduated from Ohio State’s Masters of Accounting program in May 2022. Starting in August, I will be working for an accounting firm called Plante Moran as a consultant. Im the meantime, I am working as a babysitter for the remainder of the summer!

Since graduation, I have been babysitting for numerous families around Columbus, Ohio, through an app called Juggle. Families post when they need a sitter and we can apply to work the job. Having worked roughly 60 sits in the past 3 months, I have an enormous amount of current experience babysitting for children of all ages.

As for past experience, I have worked with children for about 8 years now. In high school, I would often have weekend babysitting jobs for friends of the family. The longest job I worked was as a summer nanny, for a family with 4 kids. Their ages were 5, 6, and 12-year-old twins.

A lot of my experience working with kids has come from coaching recreational gymnastics at the end of high school and beginning of college. For 4 years, I coached 3-4 times a week at my neighborhood gym. These gymnasts ranged from 3 years old to teenagers, varying from beginner to advanced skill levels.

Additionally, in undergrad, I was involved in a program called College Mentors for Kids. Once a week, kids from schools around Columbus would come to Ohio State and participate in activities with the mentors. Each of us had a little buddy and spent the semester motivating and instilling confidence in them. The mentors also had a disciplinary role that we upheld when necessary.
