Hi !
I am Lili,Im 27 years old and Im living in Brooklyn.When I was 17 years old, I moved to Barcelona (since both of my parents are from Spain) to study the degree in Modern languages and translation and I learned how to translate Portuguese, German and English into Spanish. But the most relevant thing that I accomplished there was the publication of a short book of poems that I wrote when I was there. I love writing, but not only poems I also write childrens stories and short narratives, mostly of fantasy. Since then, I am the storyteller of every birthday party of the children that I babysit. They say that I am a very good one, but that is only because practiced that a lot when I was working as an English teacher for the School of Languages Kids and Us in Spain. Regarding that big part of my life, I would like to mention that I have a lot of experience babysitting. Since I was 16, I have been caring for my nephews and other children after school and at the weekends, both boys and girls. I helped them with their homework and pick them up from school. We spent the afternoons together, playing at home, reading, or doing some crafts. At 18 I went to Ireland (New Ross) to work as an Au pair for two wonderful children ( an eight-year-old girl and a two-year-old boy), it was one of the most enriching experiences of my life. They had a high level of energy, so in the time I spend with them we usually went out, to the park, although it depended on the weather. I was always looking for entertainment activities to do with them. I had to be creative, so they did not get bored. Moreover, I have worked as a leisure instructor in two sports camps in California and one in Portugal for a surfing program. I love surfing, even though I can not practice that sport in my hometown. In the sports camps, I worked with children from 4 to 12, from Monday to Friday (8 am-4 pm) during July August 2016, and 2017. I usually worked with the oldest children, from 7 to 12 years old. With them we did all kinds of games, we played different sports (football, basketball, tennis) and we went to the swimming pool twice a week. I prepared them breakfast and helped to tidy up their rooms. I have been working as an English teacher from 2015 to 2020 in several English schools. My students ages range from 3 years old to 12, although in 2021 I was working at a high school for teenagers from 13 years old to 17. I always wanted to be a translator but after working in that field when I finished my degree, I realized that my dream job was to teach. I consider myself a responsible, nice, really patient, and empathic person. But the most representative adjective about me I think is dynamic because I love to use my time effectively and spend it doing a lot of things. I really like animals, I have a dog and a cat, both are crazy, but I adore them. I love traveling and meeting new people and that is the reason I decided to apply for a college program here in New York, but it is only five hours class per week so I would love to work as a babysitter the rest of my time.
