Though I teasingly ask my families to call me governess (think Jane Eyre), Ive been a professional nanny for 10 years now, and before that I was raising my own five children-mostly grown now-as a single parent since the youngest was 1 and the oldest (twins) were 12.
Currently, I am working with six-year-old boy/girl twins for two days a week. Previously I was working with them in a full-time capacity since the twins were 4-months old, and had full duties with them from that time, for 10 hours a day, 3 to 4 days a week.
Previous to my current family I worked for another Brooklyn family whose children were 1 and 4 upon my start. I worked basically full time with them until they moved to Croton-on-Hudson (when the kids were 4.5 and 7.5) at which time I began a 2-day/1 night combo each week which eventually morphed into a bi-monthly gig as I started working more with the current (twins) family. That continued until the pandemic at which time the kids were 8 and 11.
Im involved with the local music scene as a fiddler and singer and also play other instruments. Ive always incorporated music with my work as a nanny, from the very youngest ages (singing and playing for infants). As children get older I play and try to teach them a bit if they show interest. Regardless, Im very energetic and interactive in my play and care with children, whatever their ages. I can act like one of the kids but at the same time Im able to gently exert my authority when that is called for.
Im known as a child whisperer for all ages, but at this juncture I would love the opportunity to work with infants again. This interest extends beyond the part time-during the week work Im currently looking for, to temporary, occasional or single day or night situations.
Please note that I expect to be available full time from early July to late August.

Additional services: Meal preparation, Laundry, Light housekeeping, Swimming supervision, Crafts, Potty training, and Travel with family.

Rate: $20/hour – $25/hour

Late morning: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday.
Early evening: Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday.

Early afternoon: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday.
