Hello! My name is Lorraine. I was born in South Africa and I’ve been living in the States since 2018. I originally moved here as an Au Pair for two years. In my first year I took care of a busy 9 year old girl who loved playing with her pet, riding bikes and doing gymnastics. In my second year I took care of 3 teenage boys who loved to play video games, watch football and bake their favourite chocolate chip cookies!
I work as a quality engineer during the day and in my free time I enjoy hiking, running, baking, reading and trying out new food spots.
I have other child care experience from when I lived in South Africa. I worked on a variety of youth camps and events for an organization called the Voortrekkers (the South African version of boy scouts and girl guides). My responsibilities ranged from entertainment and playing with the kids to waking kids up at camps and making sure they were doing okay and having fun.
I mostly have experience with children 6 years and older, however I am a quick learner and open to taking care of younger if needed.
