Hello families! My name is Jackie, and I’m excited to join the Sittercity! I am 24 years old, and I graduated college last year with a degree in sociology, specializing in education. I moved to NYC after graduation and have been working in a restaurant, but I am looking to get back into childcare. I have always been passionate about working with children and creating a safe, nurturing environment for them to thrive.

While I babysat quite frequently in my teenage years, my most recent experience with children has been tutoring. While taking remote classes from Portland, Oregon in the fall of 2020, I had the opportunity to teach a pod of five elementary school students. I facilitated their online learning while actively working to ensure a sense of community and normalcy in their lives, even through uncertain times. I successfully balanced the needs of the students while simultaneously keeping in close communication with their families. I am adept at managing the diverse needs of children of different age groups and creating engaging and educational activities to stimulate their development.

While I loved teaching this pod and am passionate about education, I am also very interested in childcare/babysitting without the tutoring component (although I would be open to that too). My schedule is very flexible, and I would be happy to accommodate your familys needs whether you need a one-time sitter or a regular caregiver.
