Hi! My name is iris!

I 33 years old, the eldest of 3 and I have over 20 years experience working in child care. Im a super fun, creative and attentive sitter and person. I am a wonderful listener, problem solver, teacher and care taker and seek to build loving and caring relationships with the families and children that I meet. My empathetic abilities allow me to cater specifically to each child’s needs. I have a musical theatre background which contributes to my creative spirit. I love the outdoors, bookstores, coloring, building legos, developing new games, storytelling, comic book writing, and learning about the wonderful diversity that exists right here in our city. Baking and cooking come naturally and offer me a meditative grounding practice; I also use cooking/baking to introduce children to new foods, as well as a practice in exercising their own autonomy.

I have experience with ages ranging from infants to 18 year olds and spent 2016-2019 looking after two boys (7 and 9 at the start of our time together). I picked up after school, took to various activities around the city on subways and busses (I also have experience on subways with a 2yo and 4mo), prepped dinner, oversaw bedtime routine, light housework, ran some errands and got to play with and learn from these brilliant young humans.
