Hi there, my name is Hanna Golden and I’m currently a professional contemporary dancer based in New York City.
I am based in Brooklyn, but I have no problem commuting to other boroughs to spend time with your little ones!
Most of my childcare experience comes from day care settings that were centered around teaching dance. Besides teaching dance these day care settings focused on building leadership skills, communication skills, confidence in creative expression, as well as instilling healthy social skills within growing children.
I’m originally from Bentonville, Arkansas so I am no stranger to hospitality with a bit of Southern charm. I have a BFA in Modern Dance Performance as well as a BSA in Psychology from the University of Oklahoma where I conducted University research in coping mechanisms of adolescents and athletes.
In addition to extensive teaching experience, I also have experience in taking care of children with special needs. I ran a special needs dance program from 2016 to 2018, as well as served as a part-time caretaker to a child with special needs.
My background in both dance and psychology provides me with the tools necessary to care for your children in that I encourage confidence and creative expression, I emphasize empathy, I stress the importance of perseverance and work ethic, and I ultimately want to serve as a mentor and role model for your little one(s).
I ultimately am looking for a job that makes me happy and is fulfilling and I believe developing a meaningful connection with your child is that job exactly. Your kid(s) are the next generation, and if I can make a positive impact in their life, however small that impact may be, I would be honored to do so. I come from a family of 6 siblings, thus I am no stranger to the positive impacts of childcare.
I am open to evening shifts and weekend availability. I have a driver’s license but no car. I will require occasional flexibility for dance performances but I will arrange these dates with you in advance.
