Hi, my name is Emoni. I have a lot of siblings so I have always been a built-in sitter for my parents. But I have also been a sitter for other people as well. Working with children can be rewarding because they’re fun to be around, you get to build relationships and mold them into the person they are on their way to becoming.

My first experience sitting was with a baby named Max. I was with him till he turned 3. His mom would drop him off to me in the morning before she would go to work and I would put on his favorite shows, give him snacks and plan activities for him. We made slime together, I contributed to him learning the alphabet, and occasionally took him to the park. Max was an easy going toddler, it didn’t take much to make him happy. But seeing him happy made me happy. Eventually Max started daycare so his mom no longer needed me but we still keep in touch.

I feel like when working with kids it isn’t so much about money or always discipline. But helping them learn, as-well as learning with them and having fun with them brings me joy. I think we are all kids at heart and being with children brings out your inner child. I admire children for their creativity, imagination, innocence, and honesty.

Fun fact: I have 12 siblings all of which I have babysat.
