Hi there! My name is Emily and I am a 28-year-old social worker living in Brooklyn. I currently work as a therapist at a private practice and my hours aren’t the typical 9-5, which means I have the flexibility to be a part-time nanny/sitter! I love having this flexibility because my clinical work is with adolescents and adults; this way, I still get to work with children as well. I’ve been working with kids since I started sitting at 15. I also spent two years as a counselor at an overnight camp in Maine and I worked for a year as a mental health counselor for children ages 5-13. I have a bachelors in psychology and a masters in social work, meaning I understand child development and am very comfortable teaching/practicing social emotional skills with kids. I also love to have fun, be goofy, and (perhaps most importantly) meet your kids where they are at. I am just as comfortable playing with the little ones as I am hanging out with tweens and teens.
