Hello!

My name is Amira, I just graduated from Cornell University with a degree in Comparative Literature and French Studies. I’ve moved to New York City to take an elementary school teaching position at Success Academy, the top performing charter school in the city. I’ve babysat and taught young children since I was 14 years old. It mainly began with figure skating lessons at my local ice rink and progressed to a long term relationship I till have with neighbors, family friends, and families I’ve met online. I speak fluent French and attended a French International school in Chicago. I’ve had the wonderful experience of passing that lineage of learning to the kids I’ve babysat. I think early develop is such a crucial stage in a child’s life, which is why I took a job as teacher. It’s so saturated with intense observations, acquisitions, sensitivities, and open-ness, all of which have long-lasting effects on a person’s development of their identity.
