Hello everyone, my name is Amanda-Li! My passion for nurturing young minds led me to get my Associate’s Degree in Childhood Education with a concentration in Kindergarten-6th grade. Growing up I took care of my younger cousins as I was the oldest. My cousins are my experience with toddlers and infants. In high school, I worked at a non-profit organization as a Peer Leader who went to different communities and taught workshops for age groups as young as elementary and as old as senior citizens. In the summers I was a camp counselor for various summer school programs in Brooklyn. For college, we were required to do fieldwork for two years in Brooklyn public schools. My fieldwork meant that I was actively observing a head teacher, engaging with children, helping with classroom transitions, and teaching different subjects to children. These jobs and my degree have helped me gain the skills necessary to not only watch and take care of your children but also contribute to their growth! As someone who has cared for my cousins and grandmother over the years, I am very familiar with household responsibilities and errands and would be happy to help with light housework, prep and cooking, and some small errands. I am comfortable with pets, especially dogs since I’ve grown up around them and currently have 3 of my own.
