Since the beginning of this year, I’ve been working in a Bed-Stuy elementary school teaching science to children aged 5-9. Before, I worked for some time in the biotechnology field after graduating with a degree in biomedical engineering (with a minor in Spanish). Working with kids has shown me how much I love spending time with them and picking their amazing little brains. I cherish the opportunities to get to know them more closely and develop our bond; I feel like we are able to learn from each other. Through teaching, I’ve honed in on my abilities to care for small children and to understand their nuances. I would love the opportunity to care for children with whom I can foster a healthy relationship. I would leverage my scientific and educational backgrounds to turn everything into an opportunity to learn and discover something new about the world. My love for learning and my sense of humor set me apart; I have always prided myself on my ability to bring joy and laughter to those around me.
