My name is Megan, I am 32 years old, and a new mom to a beautiful 1 year old girl. I am looking to work with children because for the last seven years I have been working for the department of education, with elementary aged students, and it has been the most fulfilling job I have been blessed to have. I am also an eldest sibling of two, a 23 year old and a ten year old, so I have life experience with a big age range. I take being a role model very seriously with first, my siblings and now my daughter.
I want to continue my work with children because I have a genuine interest in the well being and development of children. I think that children are in constant need of people who care and want to help them be their best selves. Creating a safe space for children is a top priority, both physically, and emotionally, always approaching them with empathy, and compassion. I am playful and cheerful in nature. I have noticed this is helpful when keeping children engaged and having a good time as they develop. I pride myself in being able to sense a need or want in a child even when they are not at an age where they can speak. Being attuned to them has always been second nature to me. Lastly, I will be there to listen actively and allow for whoever I am engaging with the feel heard and understood.
